The speed around Mohanji
Three days ago, 24th October 2023, was, as per the vedic calendar, an important day when the great saint Shirdi Sai Baba left his physical body. Baba is considered an avatar, an embodiment of God. He never left Earth even though we no longer have physical access to him, at least not in the form we are familiar with. His statue is in Mohanji Peace Center (MPC) in Obrenovac. Many people have already had experiences and miracles with him. He is not just an idol, he speaks, transforms and gives experiences.
Three days ago, as I shared on my Instagram stories, Mohanji surprised us with his visit to the Mohanji Peace Center in Obrenovac. The morning of the same day, we didn’t know that he would come. Suddenly, we received the news. Such surprises often happen around Mohanji. The hosts managed to prepare everything on time and welcomed us. They cooked two meals and a dessert for 30 people in two hours. They confirmed that, in normal circumstances, it is impossible to do that in two hours. They are not professional cooks and they take more time in the kitchen. But with Mohanji, everything, including our capacity, speeds up and increases tremendously. Over the years, many people experienced this around Mohanji.
For example, when Mohanji was visiting my home for the first time, they unexpectedly came about 2 hours earlier. It was a breaking of my expectations. The house was a mess and we had only 15 minutes to make everything ready and clean up the mess. Even though panic overwhelmed mom and me, our hand movements miraculously became extra fast, super precise and synchronized. Normally, if we cook at the same time, we bump into each other all the time in the kitchen. So, we avoid cooking at the same time. But this time, we didn’t land a finger on each other and we moved at x10 faster than usual speed. Considering the speed, it was a miracle that no dish was broken, but even a bigger miracle that we didn’t even touch each other. We didn’t experience this speed and synchronicity again. Such miracles happened very frequently to me too whenever I cooked for Mohanji.
He answered my question without asking him
Mohanji often answers questions before people ask him. This is visible in all his discourses. He listens to people’s thoughts and he likes to deliver as much as he can. He wants everybody to walk away from him satisfied. If somebody has a desire to hug him or ask a burning question, even if he is in pain, he will not leave until the person’s desire is fulfilled. Similarly, three days ago, there was a question in my mind which bothered me for months. I never asked Mohanji because I didn’t even know how to formulate my question. It was about a complex situation I was going through. This time, Mohanji suddenly answered it in its entirety. It was exactly what I was looking for. I was so happy. I couldn’t even formulate my own question, but he heard it from my inside, understood it and answered it.
Ignoring his pains
Three days ago, Mohanji came with an unwell leg. His work on cleansing people or locations always reflects on his body. He may take somebody’s problem away, but he will end up coughing, limping, or it may appear as a pain in his body. All his body’s aches and illnesses are what he removes from those who visit him or seek his help. This is visible to those who live with him. On that day, even though his leg was painful and he couldn’t walk well, he came to fulfill the desire of all of us. He returned home that day holding nothing in his hands. He gained nothing, but he gave all of us completion, fulfillment, contentment, answered our questions and hugged everybody who silently craved for it. He never puts his pains or needs before others’. This is a characteristic very known about him which people all over the globe notice in him.
My most favorite parts of his speech on that day:
Setting goals
One of the things I liked the most from what Mohanji spoke is “why we should set goals”. He shared that, in an absolute sense, we don’t need to set goals because life is the one that brings us situations. We are not the ones creating situations. This doesn’t mean we should be passive, but it means we must understand we have no control over the main things in our life. We cannot control our birth, death, breathing, or heartbeat. These are the key parts of our life, and we cannot control them. To avoid suffering, we should understand this and accept it. Why do we need a goal then? If time is bringing birth, death, situations, why do we need to have a goal and a vision? He said, “For the sake of focus. Why focus? Because the other side is distraction. So many people tell us so many things, and we will not have any focus anywhere. It is important to have a goal, a focus, a vision, in order to stay connected to our priority.” This understanding helped me a lot, not only verbally, but it actually moved me into more focused action.

Consciousness and God
A question came to Mohanji, “What is consciousness?” He answered that consciousness is pure energy running the Universe. A part of that energy is also inside our body. We call it the soul. Consciousness is another name for God. God is unexplainable, only experienceable, because God is everything. You have to experience God to know God. You can experience God or the people who have experienced God. That is the same. People who experienced God carry much larger aspects of God within them. They are closer to consciousness. People who are ignorant, unaware, also have the consciousness within, but they are not aware of it. People who experienced God are more God-like than the people who don’t know about it. Staying in close contact with people who experienced God is very important.

God is abundance
Mohanji emphasized that one of the fundamentals we should know is that God is abundance. Every atom is from God, every creation, every non-creation is God. So then, what is God? Perfect abundance. But do we ever feel abundance? He concluded, “That is our disconnection from God.” It is easy to know whether we are disconnected from God when we don’t feel abundant. And how do you know you are feeling abundant? You are feeling deep gratitude.

Story of Rama and Ravana
One of my favorite things Mohanji spoke about is the story of Rama and Ravana, and how Ravana wanted Rama by his side at the moment of his death. As we know, Lord Ram was a great avatar. In his time, Ravana was his opponent. Everything about their story is symbolic. Ravana was known to have had ten heads, and ten heads mean proficiency in ten different things. That means, he was extremely intelligent. Then why did Ravana do such a foolish thing to kidnap the wife of Ram? He had powers to see, so knew that the time of his death was approaching. He also knew the importance of having a God or a master by one’s side at the time of death. This is the highest a disciple can hope for. Even if we are connected to a master throughout our life, it is not a guarantee that he will receive our soul at the time of death. This requires a very close connection to a master, not connecting to him and worshiping him, but even beyond that — extreme closeness. When Ravana kidnapped the wife of Ram, Ram had to come and get her. Ravana was killed by Ram’s arrow. It was anyway the time for Ravana to die. He would have died even if Ram didn’t shoot him. But he made sure that it is at least in the proximity of Ram, with Ram’s arrow. The point of the story is that Ravana wasn’t foolish, his goal was one, his vision was clear. He knew what he wanted and he got it. Many disciples don’t know what they want and they fall short to reach the destination. How can we reach the destination if we don’t know where we’re going? When Ravana died, his ten heads died too, that means the death of the ego. Each knowledge, title, possession, position, relation and name that we have is another head on our body. It doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have all these – if we have them, we should keep them with gratitude and respect, but it shouldn’t turn into a bloated ego. When Ravana’s heads died, his ego died and he became one with his guru.

What I learnt:
Even though I struggled with my problem for months, Mohanji didn’t answer my question when I wanted it months ago, but when I needed it, which is now. He could have answered it before, but what would be the use if I didn’t have the capacity to digest it? He gives us things not when we want it, but when we need it.
For example, when Covid had just begun, my mother was dead worried about what the situation in Serbia would be like. Many have predicted wars in Europe. We know Serbia has a history of wars, so her concern was whether the Balkans would be safe for her children (my brother and me). During one of the Satsangs, she asked Mohanji about it. He said that if wars in Europe happen, the Balkans region will not be directly affected. Since it may be close to us, we may feel some effects, but we will not be directly hit. This calmed her down, but another question appeared in her mind - should we sell the apartment in the city and purchase a property in a village? Will we be safer in nature? Stories were circling that larger cities may not be safe in the years to come. She kept thinking about this and got a chance to ask it to Mohanji.
Mom usually has no questions. But when it comes to us, her children, she sometimes becomes worried. When she asked him, Mohanji didn’t answer directly whether we should sell the apartment or not. We understood it wasn’t the right time for us to get an answer. He gave some generic answer which confused her, and from that moment, she didn’t worry about this for a while. It looked as if he anesthetized her brain so that she doesn’t worry, but at the same time, he didn’t want to give an answer. A few years later, he visited our home for the first time. He stood at the balcony and said with conviction, “Good neighborhood.” Through this, he gave us the answer. He didn’t answer it directly at that time because of a number of reasons, but he never forgot the question. Maybe we would have thought that he didn’t understand the question, or that he didn’t hear us, but he always does. He hears us even if we don’t talk. By nature, mom is patient and she had strong faith in Mohanji that he would take care, so she finally got her answer. Faith and patience always pay off.
Sometimes people ask Mohanji questions and he sometimes doesn't elaborate the question's main topic. Why is that? Sometimes he extends his answer to other topics which weren't asked by the person. Why? How is Mohanji's style of answering different from other teachers?

Why Mohanji’s answers can appear confusing or not direct:
Mohanji never leaves anything unanswered, but people don’t understand his way of operation. If Mohanji’s answers appear confusing, that is because he listens to the questions of all the people in the hall, and through one answer, he answers to a crowd because someone may be too shy to ask, or they are not able to verbalize painful topics. He answers to them in advance, without making them verbalize it, because he cares about all people, especially if their pains are deep and they are sincerely seeking help.
Sometimes people ask just for the sake of asking. We should never ask just because we are bored. Mohanji is happy to answer the sincerest burning questions.
He sometimes doesn’t answer directly because people ask questions but are not ready for the truth. Even if he tells the truth, they may not accept it, or it will only add up to their confusion. Either way, there is no use.
Sometimes, people ask one thing, because they believe this is what they need the most, but Mohanji sees clearly that another topic is what they need more. For example, they seek some high spiritual answers, while they are first of all not handling their basic things properly. We cannot build a skyscraper when we don’t have a strong foundation. If we try to do that, it may be escapism. When a question is truthful and burning, Mohanji is happy to answer. But if it’s just to satisfy the mind’s fascination, he may not. So, Mohanji sometimes changes the topic on purpose, not because he didn’t hear the question.
Mohanji sometimes answers the same question differently to different people because he is interested in transformation more than feeding a fascination or infatuation.
My conclusion of the story is that each moment with Mohanji is its weight in gold. What happens around him cannot be bought with money. We only must have “eyes to see” and receptivity to experience him.
I wish you all the best.
