How I came to Kumbh Mela

My whole trip to Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 happened purely through Mohanji’s grace. When I first heard of Kumbh Mela, I wasn’t particularly connected to it, nor did I know much about it. Mohanji said, “Those who are here are called” (referring to the spiritual calling of this sacred space and the great masters who come here), and that's when I felt a subtle sadness that I hadn’t been “called.” When I heard of others going, another bit of sadness pierced me—but not deeply. I was convinced that I couldn’t go.

A few days later, I had a dream of taking a dip at Kumbh Mela. When I woke up, I felt deep sadness that it had only been a dream. I wasn’t consciously craving, but clearly, my soul was. Mohanji always hears, recognizes, and acts upon the deepest pulls of our soul.

I was hoping that taking a dip in my dream was equally powerful, but I was later guided that I should come in person. I didn’t expect it, but soon, everything was sorted.

The flight miracle

Finding an available flight ticket was a challenge, considering this is the largest spiritual gathering in the world, with millions planning their trip months in advance. I finally found a ticket, but it had a layover in Mumbai with too little time (three hours). Mumbai airport is large, and I had to switch from the international to the domestic terminal. Three hours simply wasn’t enough. I could spend an hour and a half just getting through visa and passport control.

Initially, I thought it's okay, but as my trip neared, I started worrying. What if I missed my flight? Should I buy a new ticket? Just as my worry reached its peak, I received an email: my flight from Mumbai had been delayed. Instead of three hours, I now had nine!

I was so humbled. This was Mohanji!

The lost wallet & Mohanji's protection

Before traveling, I was told to withdraw euros and exchange them in India because ATMs in Prayagraj (place of Kumbh Mela) were reportedly empty. However, since my flight was delayed, I realized I had enough time to withdraw cash in Mumbai, so I didn’t carry much of it (just around 30 euros and some Indian rupees).

In Istanbul, during my layover, one of my bags got stolen, which had my wallet inside. As I said, I didn't carry much cash, only a card which I could immediately block. If Mohanji hadn’t worked on delaying my flight, I would have lost everything. This was a clear sign of his protection.

Support at the right time

From when I landed at the Mumbai airport, I had only the airport WiFi to contact some people. I couldn't buy a local SIM card, due to no cash, which is very risky for a female foreigner in India.

With Mohanji's protection, everything and anything can become smooth if he is your priority.

I read in one WhatsApp group that Subhasree asked if anybody is travelling from Mumbai on February 9. I thought that she was going. Instead, she was asking because she needed somebody who could carry the Guru Leela books from Mumbai to Kumbh Mela.

Thinking she is travelling from Mumbai on 9th, I texted her for help — if she is in Mumbai, to buy me a SIM card, and I briefly narrated the issue. She told me that she is travelling with Mohanji to Coimbatore, but she put me in touch with one gentleman called Shekhar, who was also travelling from Mumbai.

The timing when Subhasree contacted Shekhar was perfect, he was just on his way to Preethi's home to collect the books. Also it's a miracle that mine and Shekhar's flights were almost at the same time from Mumbai, to the same destination—Maha Kumbh Mela. His was at 1:40 PM, and mine was at 2:45 PM.

I was so fortunate because he was so kind to buy me a SIM card, bring me cash to have the smooth days ahead, and even brought me some food from Preethi (a Mohanji family member who lives in Mumbai) who lovingly texted me to ask if I needed something from her house, because Shekhar was anyway coming to her house to pick up the Guru Leela books. It was really a surprise.

I got everything I needed, in no time. Not only the trip to Kumbh Mela, but even all the help after losing the bag, which was completely my responsibility and nobody was obligated to help me. But Mohanji is always there to hold us, even through other people.

Subhasree messaged both Shekhar and me and came to know that everything is sorted.

I had also developed some fever, but I started relaxing after everything I got and after eating Preeti's food. I must mention that my strict diet limits the foods I can eat. If Preethi hadn't prepared my meal using the ingredients I specified, I likely wouldn't have eaten for another 24 hours due to the long journey. When Mohanji is physically present with people, he ensures no one goes hungry, making sure everyone receives enough food. That’s how I know this, too, was his doing.

After hearing all this, Subhasree was shocked at how Mohanji orchestrated it. While they were travelling from Palakkad to Coimbatore to Chennai, while Mohanji was meeting many people, talking and doing other things, in the background he was sorting everything out for me, without any visible efforts from outside—this was confirmed by Subhasree.

Conclusion

Mohanji's support in brief:

  1. Possibility to come for Kumbh at all (it happens only every 144 years—huge grace to be here now)

  2. Replenished essentials after the lost bag—Mohanji cleans up our mess even when we are irresponsible 🥲

  3. Feeling supported by Mohanji family and not feeling alone and lost

All this orchestration from the moment Subhasree texted the group, until Shekhar handed over the needed essentials to me was not a coincidence.

As Subhasree says, after all this, Mohanji is sitting, not emotional or showing off. Calm, handling everything, no need to explain anything to anyone. As he says, “those who have eyes will see.”
